"Men's Health Magazine" Arrow Features 24Hr Gym's Own Gareth Naffine

Gareth Naffine completed the Sundiet programme and was featured in May's edition of Men's Health - congratulations on his great personal achievement.

At the 24hr gym we have developed the Sundiet programme where you can count calories easily and simply. This becomes a revelation to the people who learn about calories, and frustratingly confusing for those who don't.

Calories and the control of them is the essential part. When people try to find out more on this subject they soon see that the 24HRGYM team are the only ones that can actually show you how to do it on a day to day, week to week basis.

Once a client applies this "calorie controlled part" (never previously explained), they feel compelled to share it with others, and want to show off their new shape.

Unfortunately, when real proof of 'before' and 'after' photos were produced, Men's Health Magazine jumped on this idea and fitted it into their "feature" of the month. They then proceeded to corrupt everything that had been said and done on the subject but reflected nothing of its originality.

Not only that, they then sent out their own photographer to the gym (without asking our permission).

They didn't choose to use any of their own photos. Instead they opted to use the photo-shoot we ourselves had placed in our own programme but made no reference to our photo-shoot or our programme in their Magazine. We have to say that we consider this practice to be not only extremely rude but it is also illegal and a breach of our Copyright.

I will be writing to Men's Health Magazine's chief writer, Siska Green, for an apology and acknowledgement, and hopefully a follow-up story as to what actual did take place. A disappointed Gareth Naffiine said later that "I told them everything but they changed all of it so it did not resemble anything I had said at all."

It would seem that selling Magazines is the only way that Men's Health Magazine can pay their bills. The same story was also sent to the local paper who, it has to be said, did not change it to fit in with "the topic of the day". Unlike Men's Health Magazine who seem to take pictures to fit the story and not pictures from the story. Should any person object, then no picture is subsequently used until their version is agreed to.

This underhand behaviour by a reputable Magazine does nothing for weight loss and certainly not for men and women's health and brings the Magazine itself into disrepute.

Whatever! Let's all still congratulate Gareth on his great achievement. Well done Gareth we had a great day doing 2 photo-shoots one at work and one in venture studios in Malmesbury, Wiltshire where Gareth, his girlfriend and family eventually went for a showing and chose a selection of photos to keep as a memento for life. Weight loss can be a very positive experience if it is done properly, as Gareth has demonstrated.
